What a game!!! And what an end to an up and down season(well until we go to a bowl game). The guys played a sound game and kicked that school up north's butt. It was fun to retain the bragging rights for the next year. Last year, when I first started to go to school here, we lost to them in their stadium, and I had to live with all the bashing for one year. So now, I get the last laugh. For now...
Overall, it was a great game. I have never seen the electricity in a stadium like that before. Watching it on television does not really understand the craziness that is going on. I tivo'd it to so that I may re-live it, and I know I can get very excited with every play because I was actually there. But again, watching it on tv doesn't show how really special this game really is.
Prior to the game, as I was waiting for my friend outside the stadium, I spoke to a guy from Chicago. He was a graduate of NIU or Northern Illinois Unversity and came down to the game and was in aw of the school and the stadium. He was neither a Buckeye nor Wolverine fan, but a gambler. But he tells me that most of all he is a college football fan. And where else to see the greatest rivalry in sports than at the Horseshoe against UM. As we watched the sea of red pass us by, I too was a bit taken back by the magnitude and tradition of this game. We had not only the students of the university, we had people in their 80s, sporting the scarlett and grey as they were being pushed in their wheelchairs. We saw little kids both wearing the colors of UM and scarlett and grey with mini megaphones in hand chanting "Go Blue" by the little wolverine fan and "O-H!" and the crowds reply "I-O!" What such unity. But even though both players and fans have so much disdain against each other, we saw a lot of respect. With lots of red and blue in and around the stadium, you'd think that it was a political rally or something. Could politics be as respectful?
I know I know, you may say, well look what happened to Pacers/Pistons or South Carolina/Clemson. With what has gone on in sports within the last week with the fights breaking out at basketball games and in a college football game in South Carolina, it is sad to see all that going on. I don't know what it is. I guess it's too much of a religion here in the midwest and in particular in Big Ten country to mess with.
So the underdog won again in sport's greatest rivalry(many people call it that so I'm going with the flow). I don't think there was really any underdog or favorite since all records and all stats are thrown out when it comes to these two playing. Maybe next year when we travel up north again, we can win up there too! But for now! Go Buckeyes! Screw M*ch*g*n! Hahaha!

The Motorcyle Diaries Movie
No, I haven't read the book. And to be honest the only thing I knew about Ernesto "Che" Guevara before watching this film was that his face were on t-shirts. Oh yeah, and from Linklater's movie Before Sunset I learned that "che" in Argentina means "hey you". I heard that he went through South America on a motorcyle and that's all I knew. Okay, that's my background.
Well I though it was a great movie. I saw it in an art house in Bexley which is a suburb of Columbus. Acting was great, direction was great, and the story I thought it was beautifully done. My friend, Kate, who I saw the movie with yesterday after my disappoinment of the math exam I had taken earlier, claims that it's not too accurate. Oh well...it's a movie. Maybe when I have time, I'll get to reading it. Or on my motorcycle adventure that will take place after graduation. I'm thinking maybe Eastern Europe.
By the way, looking back at the answer sheet of the exam I took on Thursday, I don't think I did as bad as I thought. We'll see on Monday how that goes.

Go Bucks!
Well for you non-college football fans, this Saturday is the big game with The Ohio State University going up against the hated ones from that state up north in The Horseshoe(ie. OSU vs UM) for the 101st time. And the festivities such as "Save a puppy, roast a Wolverine" and the jumping into near-freezing Mirror Lake, have again brought all the crazy Buckeyes together. This is the #1 rivalry of all of sports. It should be a good game. It would be perfect if it was snowing tomorrow, but it is predicted to be 62 degrees and drizzling through most of the game.
Ironically Amber's family is from Ann Arbor and is down here for the game. Last year, I was up there for the 100th OSU vs. UM game where we lost, and I had trouble found me as I was getting out of the stadium. Now it'll be my turn and the one time out of the year I can say bad things to them. We'll see how crazy the rivalry between me and her family will get as I will be having dinner with them in my Scarlett and Grey gear in about an hour. I know Amber would of loved it.
Even though our team didn't have a "Buckeye" type of season, but throw out all the records because these two schools hate each other and the Shoe is going to be a rocking!

Heart for mathematics ripped out
Midterm 2: I have been studying for this test for about four days. My study buddy and I helped each other out by strengthening what we know and cleared up any haze on the topics we didn't know. I was very confident going into this midterm.
Well I just finished taking the midterm. That thing was way over our heads. No one finished the exam and we left cursing as we exited the building. For me, I'm in shock. What I thought I knew only did so much. I need to surf. Damnit, I'm too far away!
